What is CDP?

The NSW Country Development Program (CDP) Day Camps

The Leeanne Palmer NSW Country Development Program Day Camps are to assist players and coaches from Country NSW to further their skill and development as an athlete during the school holiday period or as a standalone session throughout the basketball season.

The camps are focused around individual skill development in a 1v1, 2,v2 and 3,v3 situation, a specifically designed shooting session to develop more shooters in NSW and how to play fast utilising the BNSW Country 5v5 Style of play. These camps are suited for anyone from beginners to the elite who want to further develop their basketball skills. The March & April Camps will focus on developing competency & ability as players continue to play for their local or representation team as they head towards their final rounds of competition. 

Overview of CDP Camps

Who Can Attend?:
The CDP camps are open to both male & female players in the following age groups: U14, U16 & U18.
Note: All athletes must be registered with a Country association.

Typical Camp Outline (all three sessions are included):
1st Session: 9:30am-11:00am – ‘Becoming more efficient on offence’
2nd session: 11:30am-1:00pm – ‘Offensive and defence transition build up’
3rd session: 1:30pm -3:00pm – ‘5v5 + 3×3 play and offensive concepts’

These ‘Be ready, Stay Ready’ day camps have been developed to assist players and coaches from country NSW to further their skill and development as they continue to play during their local & representative seasons.

All CDP days will be Head Coached by Adam Marjoram and other NSW network & association coaches.

What is MDP?

The NSW Metro Development Program (MDP) Day Camps

The Metro Development Program (MDP) Camps is to support our Metropolitan Athletes, Coaches and Associations as we continue to grow basketball in NSW. The day camp assists the growth of talented junior Metropolitan athletes Skills with more opportunities to hone in and advance their skill sets in key areas such as footwork, Dribbling, passing, Shooting and defence against other talented athletes across the metropolitan region.

The MDP camps are open to both male & female players in the following age groups: U14, U16 & U18.
Note: All athletes must be registered with a Metro association.

Typical Camp Outline (all three sessions are included):
1st Session: 9:30am-11:00am

3rd session: 1:30pm -3:00pm

All MDP days will be Head Coached by Adam Marjoram along with other NSW network & association coaches.

WHO CAN ATTEND CDP/MDP?

It is open to  new, existing or elite athletes wanting to better their skills or have a new positive learning experience with the goal of supporting and teaching new and existing athletes skills and concepts required to play basketball at a local, representative or higher level.

WHAT AGE DO YOU NEED TO BE TO ATTEND?

Born between 2007 – 2012.

WHAT IS INCLUDED?

All Participants receive the following:

  • 2 x 90 minute training session
  • 1 x 90 minutes simulated games session
  • Expert coaching
  • Eat, sleep, Basketball, Repeat t-shirt or Sleeveless T Shirt.
  • Home Shoot development program
  • Lunch provided
WHAT IS THE COST?

$100 (can change with inflation of  cost).

 Please Note: Active Kids Vouchers can be utilised, please make a note of this in your acceptance.

WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF ATTENDING A CDP OR MDP?

CDP  AND MDP are to assist the development of new and aspiring athletes and  help their development of essential fundamental skills and team concepts in-game as they transition from through their basketball age groups.

These CDP and MDP days will offer an arena for athletes to exhibit their abilities and partake in spirited competition within a highly competitive and welcoming atmosphere.

This year we will be utilising these days to talent I.D for future u/15 and u/17 potential 2024 Batkovic/Martin Challenge concepts.

WHAT IF MY CHILD IS OUTSIDE THE AGE RANGE?

WHAT OTHER PROGRAMS ARE BNSW RUNNING DURING THE SCHOOL HOLIDAYS?

Basketball NSW will also be facilitating numerous U12 Skills day camps and NSW Legacy Programs (I AM A GIRL Come N Try & IBA x BNSW sessions) throughout the year in other various locations across the State.  Keep an eye on our calendar for more information and other events.

Under 14: Born in the years 2011-2012.

Under 16: Born in the year 2009-2010.

Under 18: Born in the year 2007-2008.

WHAT SIZE SPALDING BASKETBALL DO I BRING?

Under 14 Boys: Size 6 Spalding basketball.

Under 14, Under 16 & Under 18 Girls: Size 6 Spalding basketball.
