Basketball NSW is excited to announce a series of three, free introductory basketball camps in April called the ‘Awesome Autumn Slam’, which will take place in Armidale, Grafton, and Coffs Harbour.
These free camps are open to boys and girls ages 10 to 19, of all backgrounds and skill levels. The aim of the Awesome Autumn Slam is to provide a fun and inclusive environment for participants to learn the fundamentals of the game.
From the streets to the Olympics, 3X3 basketball is the number one urban team sport that’s taking the world by storm! It’s a fast and exciting game, inspired by different forms of streetball originating from humble beginnings – to now being recognised as an official Olympic sport! 3X3 has simple rules and can be played by anybody. The camps will be fun and inclusive, with the opportunity to make friends and win prizes!
Coaches and instructors will be overseeing the camps to share their expertise, as well as inspire the next generation of basketball stars.
Teams for the 3X3 competitions will be formed on the day, so whether you come alone or bring friends, you are guaranteed to have a good time!
The dates for the Awesome Autumn Slam are below:
- Armidale on Monday 22 April, 10am-2pm at The Den (180 Butler St)
- Grafton on Monday 22 April, 10am-2pm, at PCYC Grafton (300 Powell St)
- Coffs Harbour on Wednesday 24 April, 10am-2pm at Sportz Central (74A Bray St)
The Awesome Autumn Slam is proudly supported through funding by the Office of Regional Youth.
Coming off the success of the South Coast Summer Slam earlier this year, which saw in excess of 350 participants attend 5 dates, BNSW is elated to hold a similar iteration of the camps in a different part of the state.
