Basketball NSW is proud to announce that for a second consecutive year, our Spalding Waratah Junior and Senior Leagues will be honouring Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities across Australia with an Indigenous Round.

BNSW is committed to working with Indigenous communities to address and tackle the barriers that face basketball participants in being able to take part in and enjoy our game. The inclusion of a dedicated round helps celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, especially in basketball in NSW and the broader basketball community. By acknowledging the contribution, Basketball aims to highlight the importance of respect for Indigenous Peoples and their cultures which are prominent in our game.

BNSW hopes that all participants will understand its importance and foster an atmosphere of mutual respect among players at all levels.
