Basketball NSW is excited to congratulate all our athletes and referees who have been selected to compete and officiate in the National Wheelchair Tournament for 2023.

Seven wheelchair basketball clubs from around the country will descend upon the Morayfield Sports and Events Centre in Queensland for the tournament, which will be held from the 14th – 16th of July.

It marks the first time a national wheelchair tournament has been modelled based on Basketball Australia’s successful National Championships format, where all teams travel to one location to compete in the Championships – allowing for clubs to all come together for a festival of wheelchair basketball.

The tournament will see four gender neutral, and three women’s teams, compete across the three days, looking to secure their titles.

The pool phase tips-off today, and there will be a total of eight games in the gender-neutral category, and five games in the women’s category. Finals will be played on Sunday, the 16th of July.

Basketball NSW would like to congratulate all the talented athletes that will be competing – a huge feat!

Make sure you keep an eye out for them over the weekend:
