GAME DAY PREVIEW | 2024 SPALDING WARATAH UNDER 20’S TOURNAMENT FINALS

Basketball NSW is thrilled to welcome everyone to the 2024 Spalding Waratah Under 20’s Tournament Finals weekend, to be held at Newcastle Basketball Stadium.

Rounds 1 and 2 took place at Sutherland Basketball Stadium and Shoalhaven Indoor Sports Centre, where a total of 13 teams competed in the men’s division, to earn their finals spot. In this period, 140 male athletes scored 5,500 points across over 40 games – with 26 referees and referee instructors officiating the league. 

The 8 remaining men’s teams are as follows, in alphabetical order:

  • Inner West Bulls
  • Newcastle Falcons
  • St George Saints
  • Sutherland Sharks
  • Valley Braves
  • Wagga Wagga Heat
  • West Sydney Wolves

  • Maddie Suprain (Newcastle)
  • Matt Walker (Illawarra)

The women’s division tips-off this week, with the four competing teams battling for the number one spot!

With plenty of action guaranteed to take place on the courts at Newcastle Basketball Stadium, there’s no place better for weekend hoops this weekend!

Entry to spectate the Spalding Waratah U20’s Finals is FREE, but it is recommended to arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Newcastle Basketball Stadium is located at 27 Young Road, Broadmeadow, and there will be limited parking on-site on the day. The stadium canteen will be open for food and drink for spectators.

Gameday will be updated on the day for live ladders, scores, and fixtures as they become available.
