NOTICE FOR COMMUNITY SPORTS SPECTATORS

Yesterday 16th of July, the Chief Health Medical Officer, Dr Kerry Chant, has written to all Community Sporting Organisations requesting that additional measures need to be taken by us all to reduce the spread of Covid-19.

For competitions conducted by Basketball NSW, we have informed all associations who participate in our competitions of the following spectator requirements.

→ Spalding Waratah Senior League = a maximum of 2 spectators per participant

→ Spalding Waratah Junior Leagues =a maximum of 1 spectator per participant

Venues/Stadiums must comply with the NSW Government public health order oof the 4sqm rule. Venues/Stadiums can choose to accept a lower number of spectators if they choose, or as directed by their local council.

We remind all spectators and participants of the following:

(1) Follow the venues Covid-19 Safety Plan

(2) Avoid high fives and hugs when celebrating

(3) Maintain physical distancing measures when you’re not playing or training

(4) If you’re sick, stay home and get tested

Basketball NSW continues to work closely with Basketball Australia, NSW Office of Sport, NSW Health and other government agencies as we collectively work towards the full return of basketball in NSW.
