About The Position

As the Technical Officials Development Officer – High Performance will assist the Head of Technical Officials in the successful, effective, and efficient management of the officiating high-performance development programs. The role will assist in facilitating the education of referee instructors and coaches and will work in conjunction with the Technical Officials Development Officer – Community in identifying talented officials and guiding them through the officiating pathway.

The role will assist in driving forward the BNSW Officiating Development Plan that is in place until 2025.

Key Responsibilities

  • Grow the pool of officials at each level of high performance (Association Level Accredited Advanced for referees and above)
  • Building and coordinating a dedicated female officiating program.
  • Co-develop and coordinate the build and delivery of annual programs for high-performance officials with the Head of Technical Officials.
  • Facilitate the efficient delivery of education programs for referee instructors/coaches.
  • Attendance at events involving high-performance officials, including development tours when needed for talent identification purposes.
  • Undertake Talent Identification at high-performance events and development league events. Metro and regional association visits for identification of future high-performance officials.
  • Support the Technical Officials Development Officer – Community in the delivery of other technical official programs.
  • Work with the Referee Advisory Committee to facilitate the upgrading of national referees and the appointment of officials to national events.

Essential Requirements
  • State Grade Level Referee Accreditation or above
  • Experience in delivering education and training sessions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent customer service
  • Ability to resolve programs and manage disputes
  • Ability to effectively prioritise tasks within defined timeframes
  • Ability to consider ways to further improve officiating programs and education
  • Full valid driver’s licence
  • Valid paid Working With Children Check
  • Full Australian working rights (citizen, resident, or valid visa holder)
Desirable Criteria
  • Educator background
  • Assessor experience or training
