Basketball NSW would like to congratulate both Emmett Adair (NSW Metro/ Norths Bears) & Tama Isaac (NSW Country/ Maitland Mustangs) on their selection for the NBA Basketball Without Borders Camp (BWB).

Adair and Issac will travel to the 13th edition of Basketball Without Borders (BWB) Asia, which will be held this weekend from Friday, June 2 – Monday, June 5 at the New York University campus in Abu Dhabi.

Adair has been selected in the Australian squad while Issac will be lining up for New Zealand after he recently moved to New Zealand to take up a great opportunity with a scholarship in Christchurch for his Year 11 and 12 schooling.

BWB is the NBA and FIBA’s global basketball development and community outreach program that unites young basketball players to promote the sport and encourage positive social change in the areas of education, health, and wellness.

The 80 BWB Asia 2023 prospects,  will be coached by current NBA players and veterans who will lead the BWB campers through various activities.

Basketball NSW, General Manager Coach and Development, Brett Coxsedge added that it is a remarkable achievement for both athletes to reach this next stage of their career development.

“I couldn’t think of two better kids to represent NSW at the BWB Camp in Emmett and Tama,” said Coxsedge.

“Both have worked extremely hard and are very competitive and have a desire to succeed at the next level. What a great opportunity for both of them to train and compete against athletes on the World stage. On behalf of BNSW, I  wish them the best of luck at camp.”

BWB, the NBA and FIBA’s global basketball development and community outreach program, has reached more than 3,900 participants from 134 countries and territories since 2001, with 106 former campers advancing to the NBA or WNBA.  The NBA and FIBA have staged 66 BWB camps in 43 cities across 31 countries on six continents.
