Basketball New South Wales is proud to share the remarkable achievement of having ten of our talented referees selected for the National Referee Development Program (NRDP) and the Elite Referee Program (ERP). These programs provide a platform for referees to further enhance their skills and contribute to the growth of basketball in Australia.

Managed by Basketball Australia in collaboration with the NBL, the NRDP offers a comprehensive development framework for aspiring referees. The program’s content is jointly delivered by Basketball Australia and the NBL, ensuring a holistic approach to referee education and training.

The ERP is exclusively managed by the NBL, with the content delivered by the league itself. This program caters to the elite referees who have already demonstrated exceptional skills and a deep understanding of the game.

BNSW would like to congratulate all our officials on their selections:

Their selection in the NRDP and ERP programs is a testament to their performance of officiating excellence and professionalism, and their commitment to further improving their skills. We couldn’t be prouder of their accomplishments.”

“We believe that strong officiating is the backbone of any successful basketball competition,” Clark continued. “Our referees play a vital role in maintaining a level playing field, promoting sportsmanship, and ensuring a positive experience for all participants. Their passion and commitment are truly inspiring, and we are thrilled to see them acknowledged at a national level.”

Basketball NSW continues to support the growth and development of referees in the state through programs and pathways. The success of these referees serves as an example for aspiring officials, and showcases the possibilities that can be achieved by those who are dedicated to the art of refereeing.
