After a resounding gold medal victory at the U15 Oceania Championships in Guam in November, the Sapphires are bound for the FIBA U16 Women’s Asian Championship in Amman, Jordan.
Australia returns to Jordan to defend its Asian Championship title, having won gold in the last two consecutive U16 Asian Championships – the last being in 2022.
Basketball NSW would like to congratulate the four NSW athletes Jade Crook, Jessie-May Hall, Zoe Jackson, Ruby Perkins & Tom Garlepp as Head Coach who have been selected to the side.
Jessie-May Hall will once again don the green and gold after receiving All-Star Five honours at the Oceania Championships.
Head Coach Tom Garlepp said he is looking forward to seeing the squad in action on the world stage.
“We have a solid team that will play tough and together basketball,” Garlepp said.
“The girls seem to value the defensive end of the floor and that is what makes them exciting from my point of view.
“Asia Cup is such a challenging environment with strong female teams, so we will go and do our best and represent our country with great pride and see what happens!”
