The Daily Telegraph, along with its affiliate mastheads, will showcase the future stars of the game via exclusive live streams of six of the state’s biggest junior competitions.

Coverage will include all Junior League finals series across the Western, Southern, Northeastern and Metro regions.

Also featured will be the Basketball NSW Spalding Waratah Junior State Cup in Minto in July, which will include the top sides in every division across the regional finals, as well as the top four sides from the Metro Junior League finals.

News Corp’s broadcasts will conclude with the Spalding Waratah Junior Premier League Finals (State Championships) across three days in August, as the best young talents from across the state square off.

The streams will feature all of the action from the main show court at one venue for each event.

You will need to be a News Corp subscriber to access the streams and follow the action from anywhere around the nation.

It all kicks off this weekend with the Spalding Waratah Western Junior League finals, as the 11 games on main court will be shown over Saturday and Sunday, including all U16 & U18 Division 1 grand finals.

“On behalf of Basketball NSW, we are incredibly excited to partner with News Corp to live stream select games from our Spalding Waratah Junior League Finals in 2022,” Basketball NSW chief executive officer Maria Nordstrom said.

“Having this opportunity to highlight our junior talent and our grassroots associations from across the state, is a perfect way to build upon showcasing what NSW has to offer on the court.

“Providing this accessibility through the implementation of having such games broadcasted live means that more and more spectators and lovers of basketball will be able to tune in and support their local teams and athletes from the comfort of their own home.”

News Sport Network managing director Michael Wilkins said the partnership was an opportunity to give basketball fans across the country a glimpse at the future make-up of the Boomers and Opals.

“It continues our strong commitment to covering basketball from the elite level to grassroots,” Wilkins said.

“It’s timely in the week of the opening match of the NBL grand final series.”

“The Basketball NSW Junior League series is also a chance for News to showcase the great regions across NSW, with competitions held in several major regional centres culminating in the Junior Premier League Finals in August.

“We are excited to launch our live stream this weekend in Bathurst with the Spalding Waratah Western Junior League finals series.”
