Basketball NSW is pleased to announce that we will be taking Walking Basketball on the road this April visiting locations from the Hunter to the North Coast.
Walking Basketball is a low-impact, social and fun way to improve the levels of physical activity for inactive and slightly active Australians, including those recovering from injury.
The tour will encompass 12 locations including, Coffs Harbour, Maclean, Ballina, Lismore, Casino, Yamba, Kempsey, Port Macquarie, Taree, Maitland and Newcastle.
If you have ever wanted to get back on court or wanted your first taste of basketball, Walking Basketball is the perfect opportunity to get active and have fun in a safe environment led by a qualified facilitator.
BNSW Community Growth Programs Administrator, Amy Nolan said that she is thrilled to take Walking Basketball on tour so that members of our regional community can have a taste of the sport.
“We have had such great success in various parts of Sydney and a small number of regional areas that have offered Walking Basketball to their community and we want to share the experience with more people that are interested in having a go,” said Nolan.
“This Walking Tour will be great exposure for the modified sport as not only is it great for mobility and to keep active but also a social outing for all those involved. It is not about skill level or fitness, as it is aimed at anyone including those over the age of 50 and or people returning from injury.”
The tour begins the 26th of April till the 30th, with registrations now open.
