Following on from the momentum in 2019, 2020 has shown to be a great year for Coach Education.

Of the 16 courses already run in 2020, BNSW have conducted 15 Club Coach courses (formerly level 1s) and one Association Coach Course (formerly level 2s). These courses provide coaches with a basic foundation of teaching philosophies that are in line with Basketball Australia’s philosophies and are essential for any junior representative coach to at least have a Club Coach accreditation.

So far in 2020, with the assistance of 11 accredited presenters – these 16 courses have accredited 252 coaches all the way from Albury to Yamba and everywhere in between.

BNSW Coach Development Manager, Jarrod Moore said he is pleased to see such a wide interest for coach education courses so far in 2020.

“It is so positive to see such a large number of people putting their hand up to help out their local associations, communities and schools,” said Moore.

“What is even more impressive is the range of coaches becoming educated through these courses – from current players to ex-players and experienced coaches of 30+ years using the course as education refreshers, to coaches starting out for the first time.”

With Club Coach Courses still planned in the near future, BNSW will continue to educate and develop coaches and support the hard work that our Associations put in the continue to grow the game.
