Basketball NSW is the governing body for basketball in New South Wales, Australia. The role of the technical officials is to ensure the game is played in a fair and safe manner and within the rules. Refereeing is the most physical active as they are on-court and “call” the game. Other technical officials perform various roles on the scoretable and statistics and further information about each role is given below.

Each year Basketball NSW enters teams into Basketball Australia's National Championships in the U20's, U18', U16', Wheelchair Basketball and for Players with an Intellectual Impairment.

The Daughters & Dads Basketball program is targeted at primary school girls aged 7-12 years old and their dads (or father figure) who join in a combination of practical and education sessions running for 90 mins over 9 consecutive weeks focusing on the skills found within basketball.
Venues: Under 18 Boys – Maitland Under 16 Boys – Newcastle Under 14 Boys – Niagara Park Under 12 Boys – Beaton Park Under 18 & 16 Girls – Bathurst/CSU Under 14 Girls – Gosford Under 12 Girls – Shoalhaven

Online theory conversion course (Zoom) Wednesday 29th June 2022 Practical Component to be completed at Kevin Bett Stadium 2nd July 2022, (between 9am-4.30pm) (Refereeing with mentor for 1 game, than 1 game on your own) Must be available for at least 1 game Costs include: BNSW Waratah Senior League Referee Shirt
