Basketball NSW is saddened with the death of Bev Fleming, she passed away on Friday the 17th July 2020.

Bev is well known within the basketball community as a tireless worker, volunteer, administrator and supporter of the Moss Vale District Basketball Association, the Barrengarry Conference and NSW Country Basketball.

Bev was instrumental in establishing the Pacific Youth League along with Roy Brettell, the Pacific Youth League was established to provide a pathway to the NBL.  When the NSW State League expanded the Pacific Youth League became the Youth League.  Bev was the secretary for the Pacific Youth League right up until the competition was incorporated into the State League.

Bev also served on the Barrengarry Conference, she was the Chair of the Committee from 1985 through to 1993. In addition to this, Bev was a member of the NSW Country Basketball Committee and assisted the coronation of many NSW Country Basketball Tournaments.

In her time with the Moss Vale District Basketball, she was the secretary from 1973 through to 1987 and was awarded Life Membership in 1986.

Bev loved the game of basketball and will be missed by everyone she connected to the game.

Bev’s funeral will be held on Monday the 27th of July at 11 am at the Bermagui Cemetery.
