Wayne Hicks passed away on Saturday morning 5th May 2018 after a long battle with illness.
Wayne represented the Newcastle Basketball Association with distinction for many years.
A NSW Junior state representative at the 1970 (Melbourne) Under 16 Australian Championships where the team were Gold medallists defeating South Australia in the Grand Final.
Wayne went on to again at the Under 18 Australian Championships in 1971 (Sydney) and 1972 (Adelaide) where they were the Silver Medallists to the Victorian’s for both years.
Funeral service will be held at Christ Church Cathedral, 52 Church Street, Newcastle, NSW, 2300 on Thursday 10th May at 1:00 pm.
There will be light refreshments following the service at South Leagues Club, Llewellyn Street, Merewether, NSW, 2291.
