Basketball NSW is thrilled to join forces with Indigenous Basketball Australia to present more exciting opportunities this year. Together, we will be hosting multiple free NAIDOC 3×3 Basketball Carnivals throughout regional NSW as part of the annual celebration.

Basketball will be the star attraction across the state with NAIDOC 3X3 tournaments again with gala days slated for Coffs Harbour, Wagga Wagga, and Ballina.

NAIDOC Week celebrations will kick off nationally from the 2nd-9th of July and will aim to celebrate and recognise the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn about First Nations cultures and histories and participate in celebrations of the oldest, continuous living cultures on earth.

These free events are open to players from Under 12’s to Opens with plenty of activities for children aged 4.5 – 9 years.

Some of the activities include;
→ 3X3 Basketball
→ Shooting competitions
→ Fun games & prizes
→ Entertainment
→ Free food

Basketball NSW, ICALD Manager Darren Allie expressed his excitement in delivering these free basketball events as part of NAIDOC festivities.

“The NAIDOC Week events are a great opportunity to bring the community together in a fun and inclusive environment,” said Allie.

“Each year they continue to grow and we look forward to seeing more new faces attending over the week.”
