BASKETBALL NOMINATED FOR 2023 SPORTS NSW COMMUNITY SPORTS AWARDS

The Community Sports Awards, organised by Sport NSW, recognises the outstanding contributions of individuals and teams who contribute to the development of sport in their community.

Basketball NSW is proud to be represented among a number of incredible finalists for this year’s awards.

Community Coach of the Year – Tim Hill (FINALIST)
Community Team of the Year – 2022 Manly Warringah U18 Girls (FINALIST)
Inclusive Achievement of the Year – Basketball NSW (FINALIST)
Distinguished Long Service Awards – Margaret Beaumont (FINALIST)

Tim Hill has demonstrated his commitment to basketball through his work as a volunteer coach over many years within the Manly Warringah District Basketball Association and he is a deserved finalist for the Community Coach of the Year award.

The 2022 Manly Warringah Under 18 Girls team also managed an impressive season, which resulted in them being shortlisted as finalists for the Community Team of the Year award. 

Basketball NSW has also been recognised for their efforts in promoting inclusive participation across all levels of the game and has been shortlisted for Inclusive Achievement of the Year.

Moss Vale Basketball Association’s Margaret Beaumont will also be presented the prestigious Distinguished Long Service Award which is for those that have given exceptional service to their sport for over 25 years.

Congratulations to all the nominees for their outstanding contributions and successes on and around the basketball court.

The winners of the awards will be revealed at a special ceremony on Thursday, 29 June 2023 at CommBank Stadium. The presentation ceremony will be hosted by the Hon. Stephen Kamper, Minister for Sport, who will also present the recipients of the Sport NSW Distinguished Long Service Award with special recognition for their exceptional service to sport.
