The Board of Basketball NSW, one of the creditors to Central Coast Waves Basketball Association (CCWBA), has approved the sale of the association to Wyong Leagues Group.

The Wyong Leagues Group has a successful history in sports administration covering Rugby League, Soccer, Golf, and Bowls and will now add basketball to their sports portfolio.

With this acquisition, the Wyong Leagues Group will become an associate member of Basketball NSW. The sale of Central Coast Waves Basketball Association will be liquidated, and Central Coast Waves Basketball will return as a sub-club of Wyong Leagues Group.

This acquisition represents a new chapter for Central Coast Waves Basketball, with the organisation poised for continued growth and success under the guidance of the Wyong Leagues Group.

“We are excited to be joining forces with the Wyong Leagues Group, a highly respected and successful organisation in the region,” said Maria Nordstrom, Basketball NSW CEO.

“We believe that this partnership will enable us to continue to provide high-quality basketball programs to our members while also expanding our reach in the community,” she added.

Under the new ownership, Central Coast Waves Basketball will continue to operate as a sub-club of the Wyong Leagues Group. All existing programs and initiatives will remain in place, with plans for future expansion and development in the works.

“We are thrilled to welcome Central Coast Waves Basketball into the Wyong Leagues Group family,” said Ben Coghlan, Wyong Leagues Group CEO. “We see tremendous potential for growth and success in this partnership, and look forward to working together to build a stronger, more vibrant basketball community in the Central Coast region.”
