V A L E – THOMAS (TOM) DALTON

A valued member of the Manly Warringah Basketball Association and patriarch to Olympian’s Brad, Karen and Mark, Tom Dalton passed away on Thursday the 6th November.

Tom’s history with basketball commenced back very early when he became involved with the establishment of basketball in Manly and as one of the true builders of the Association in its infancy stage.

 

He served as a Board Member of Basketball New South Wales in the 1980’s. Tom became a life member of Manly Warringah Basketball Association as he was a true pioneer of basketball on the peninsula. A father with a proud heritage with three children who have represented Australia and New South Wales with distinction, Brad, and Karen, both members of the NSW Hall of Fame and Mark. Janelle and Leanne have also been strong members of the NSW basketball family representing Manly Warringah and NSW with distinction.

 

Tom was 86 years of age and is survived by his wife Dot, Brad, Karen, Mark, Janelle, Leanne and their families. On behalf of the Basketball NSW Board, members and Staff we would like to pass on our deepest condolences to Tom’s family as well as their many family and friends that have known him.
